French Knife

In any well-equipped home kitchen or restaurant kitchen, the knife, which is most used is always a good chef's knife.

A knife Cook is generally good with a blade length of 6 to 12 inches and width of between 2.1 and 2.7 mm.

Although used to working with a knife cook can be a little scary (for the size of the leaf), is highly recommended for any chef or cook. Working with a normal kitchen knife is good for small jobs, but will become annoying after a while.

Once you get used to working with a good knife, it is much easier to understand how work is and how much faster things done.

In the west, there are two main styles of chefs knives:

The French knife has a long history in the cooking schools, by the fact that it has a curve to the tip of the blade.

This makes the curve cut, dice, or chopping motion of the body move in a wave motion forward. Most cooking schools teach how to cut this because it is a safer way to cut and because it makes the cutting motion seems effortless when you get the waves moving forward done right, it becomes that (without effort).

Once you get used to working this way, it becomes very easy to cut a large amount of food effortlessly and rapidly.

In contrast to the knife French, the Knife German chef has a straight blade all the way to the tip.

This type of blade used to cut a movement up and down, making it less of a wave motion, and more force is needed to cut through food.

This does not mean that the French chef knife is better than the German kitchen knife.

Both types of knives are equally acceptable and every chef will take the shape that best complements the way we prefer to prepare their food.

In my opinion, the best over a chef's knife is 8 inches, but again, this is completely subjective, and every chef uses a knife that he or she is more comfortable.
